Relational Therapy

Relational therapy is when two or more persons attend therapy together. This could be a couple in a romantic partnership with each other, siblings, parent-child, or platonic friendships. Common relational challenges we see and work with include:

  • Challenges with communication during conflict

  • Building understanding and respect for one another’s differences

  • Separation and divorce

  • Infidelity, breach of trust, or betrayal

  • Desire discrepancy

  • Ambivalence within a relationship

  • Exploring opening a relationship or ethical non-monogamy agreement

  • Loss or lack of connection and a desire to regain this connection

  • Relationship strain due to external factors such as loss, family dynamics, or life transition

  • Relational growth to strengthen the bond between you, and face life’s challenges in a healthy way

  • Parent-child conflict

  • Parenting and co-parenting

  • Sibling rivalry

  • Child and adolescent mental health

  • Adjusting to changes in family structure

  • Families impacted by trauma, mental illness, or addictions
